Financial Controller (CFO track)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to lead all accounting functions for a fast‑growing transportation and logistics provider. This role is designed as a direct pipeline to the CFO position within the next 9‑18 months.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll and cash management.
• Produce accurate monthly financial statements within a 10‑day close.
• Maintain audit‑ready balance‑sheet reconciliations and clean books.
• Manage billing, collections and ensure transaction accuracy.
• Enforce internal controls, cash discipline and standardize processes.
• Identify inefficiencies, drive automation and continuous improvement.
• Ensure precise job costing, margin visibility and cost allocation.
• Partner with operations on revenue recognition and profitability analysis.
• Improve DSO, billing speed and cash conversion cycle.
• Build and own a 13‑week cash‑flow forecast.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting and EBITDA normalization.

Required profile

• 8‑12+ years of accounting/finance experience at the controller level.
• Multi‑entity exposure, preferably $50M‑$150M revenue.
• Strong background in job‑costing environments such as construction, logistics or manufacturing.
• Proven track record of enhancing processes, controls and systems.
• Experience with ERP platforms (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics).
• CPA, MBA or transaction/QoE experience is a plus.
