Accountant – Polyurethanes Division

About the role

Rubicon is looking for an Accountant to support the Polyurethanes Division in Geismar. The role will report to the Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager and will be part of a dynamic chemical manufacturing finance team. You will be responsible for core accounting functions, cost tracking and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general‑ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with the month‑end close process and audit preparation.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to track indirect costs and support budgeting.
• Analyze cost variances and provide management reports.
• Participate in forecasting, inventory accounting and special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in public or industrial accounting.
• CPA designation or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
• Unrestricted right to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of PowerBI (preferred).
