Financial Consultant

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency's East Region, a leader in the employee benefits marketplace, is hiring a Financial Consultant in Conshohocken, PA. The consultant works with Account Teams on assigned cases, providing complex financial analysis and using modeling tools to evaluate benefit programs and their impact on business objectives, including managing and controlling client risks and losses. Work is typically hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Perform financial and risk analysis support for internal sales teams and their consulting clients
• Conduct employee benefit due diligence projects for clients and portfolio companies
• Help account teams coordinate and implement employee benefit programs for carve-out transactions
• Define clients' employee contribution modeling and strategies
• Evaluate, determine and recommend alternative coverage, pricing options and plan design changes based on economic analysis of plan elements
• Prepare reports on plan change evaluations, budget and reserve calculations and ongoing reviews
• Take part in prospective client data analysis and presentations
• Maintain quality service standards and stay up to date with the insurance environment and legislation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• At least 3 years of experience in benefits brokerage, consulting or insurance is preferred
• Strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills, good judgment and decision-making ability
• Negotiation, persuasion and communication skills; organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently and in a team

Required skills

• Intermediate working knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, macros, intermediate formulas)
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite: Word (intermediate), Excel (advanced), Access (intermediate)
• Ability to learn internal systems and work in a fast-paced environment

What we offer

• Base salary of $64,700 to $120,400, depending on experience, skills, location and other factors
