Financial Analyst I / II – Hybrid – Marietta, GA

About the role

Join the Financial Management Division of the Georgia Department of Defense in Marietta. The team is expanding and offers two hybrid positions – Financial Analyst I and Financial Analyst II – focused on budgeting, vendor management and advanced fiscal analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain budget integrity by monitoring state financial systems, identifying variances and proposing corrective actions.
• Ensure accurate coding and reporting of federal program funds from award to closeout.
• Compile prior‑year purchase order listings and support grant extension requests.
• Generate database queries, perform expenditure trend analysis and provide ad‑hoc reports for senior leadership.
• For Analyst I: manage invoice tracking, vendor relationships and accounts‑receivable reconciliation.
• For Analyst II: conduct advanced forecasting, statistical trend modeling and lead external audit compliance.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented analyst who enjoys solving budget variances (Analyst I).
• Strategic thinker with experience using ERP systems and strong compliance focus (Analyst II).
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and translate raw data into strategic insights.
