Financial Analyst - Cost Accounting & Inventory Control

About the role

Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is looking for a Financial Analyst to join its team in Corona, CA. The role supports month-end close, standard cost accounting and inventory control, working closely with Operations. It is a hands-on position covering cost accounting, inventory control and financial reporting for manufacturing operations, helping communicate results to Operations partners and influencing decisions with business insights.

Key responsibilities

• Perform month-end close, including journal entry preparation and fixed assets reconciliation
• Prepare standard cost estimates for new and existing SKUs and support NPI cost estimating
• Manage inventory activities such as obsolete inventory tracking and disposition, employee sale inventory, physical and cycle counts, and year-end inventory across multiple areas
• Reconcile scrap daily with Operations and report daily on labor, tools and supplies, scrap and other operational metrics
• Own petty cash and checking account reconciliation
• Process expense requests for R&D, NPI and production areas
• Support special projects for Finance and Operations and share results with Operations partners

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or Accounting with 1-2 years of finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of GAAP and standard cost accounting principles
• Experience with or aptitude for high-frequency reporting cycles (daily, weekly, monthly)
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivated and a self-starter
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred

Required skills

• SAP experience preferred, including fixed assets, inventory, BOMs and routings
• Strong Excel skills for analyzing large, detailed operational data sets
• Physical inventory control experience is a plus
