Finance Operations Associate (Temporary)

About the role

Creating Healthier Communities is seeking a part‑time Finance Operations Associate to support its Finance team during peak processing periods. The temporary position (approximately six months) works on a hybrid schedule with occasional on‑site presence in the Alexandria, VA area.

Key responsibilities

• Process donor pledges, payments, and deposits accurately and on time during high‑volume periods.
• Enter, verify, and reconcile financial information across donor databases, spreadsheets, and other systems.
• Review pledge forms and payment documentation to ensure correct fund allocation.
• Identify discrepancies, communicate issues to Finance leadership, and coordinate resolutions with Development and account owners.
• Maintain organized financial records while adhering to data‑integrity, confidentiality, and retention policies.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in finance, accounting, donor or payment processing, accounts receivable, or similar administrative operations.
• Proven ability to perform high‑volume data entry with attention to detail and minimal supervision.
• High school diploma required; associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Accurate data‑entry capabilities.
• Experience using donor database systems or similar organizational databases.
