Field Software Engineer

About the role

As a Field Software Engineer at HavocAI you will bridge engineering and operations, deploying autonomous systems directly in the field. You will work embedded with customers, installing, configuring, and adapting software on sea, air, and land platforms to keep missions moving.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and operate HavocAI autonomous systems during demonstrations, exercises, and operational events.
• Travel to customer sites to support field testing, integration, and mission deployments.
• Develop and modify software on‑site to resolve mission‑critical issues.
• Integrate HavocAI systems with customer platforms, communications, sensors, and partner technologies.
• Diagnose and resolve software, networking, hardware‑interface, and system‑integration problems under real operational conditions.
• Analyze logs, telemetry, and performance data to identify root causes and validate fixes.
• Collaborate with software, autonomy, hardware, product, and program teams to improve reliability.
• Create internal tools, deployment automation, documentation, and workflows to boost operational efficiency.
• Train operators and support customer onboarding, acceptance, and technical demonstrations.
• Capture lessons learned and translate them into product improvements while serving as a trusted technical advisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in software development, system integration, or related technical roles.
• Ability to work independently in challenging environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
