Field Services Technician I

About the role

Maximus is looking for a motivated Technician 1 – Field Services to support on‑site IT operations across an assigned region. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands‑on troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and direct interaction with end users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site, tier‑1 support for network equipment, cabling and related systems at multiple locations.
• Perform installation, repair, configuration and routine servicing of hardware in the field.
• Receive, inventory, image and deploy IT assets, maintaining accurate records in the IT asset management database.
• Document and track incidents, ensuring resolution within established service‑level agreements.
• Assist with technology upgrades, software updates and desktop configuration compliance.
• Maintain Active Directory user and computer accounts and manage application permissions.
• Support the Service Desk during surge periods and handle ticket escalation.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 0‑2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently in the field.
• Willingness to travel within the assigned region.
