Junior Systems Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Systems Administrator to join the State of Georgia’s IT team supporting Athens Technical College. The role involves maintaining servers, network devices, and databases while providing reliable technical support to staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor servers, switches, access points and DHCP configurations on a daily basis.
• Perform MySQL data extraction and manipulation for reporting and business intelligence.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash or Batch to streamline provisioning and routine tasks.
• Assist with Active Directory administration, including user account creation and permission management.
• Handle ticket queues, document procedures, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on projects.
• Produce regular reports and maintain technical documentation of systems and processes.

Required profile

• Junior‑level candidate with a strong attention to detail and self‑motivation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse, collaborative team.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with a customer‑service orientation.
