Field Service Technician – Smart Home Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a Field Service Technician to join our Smart Home team in Ashland, VA. You will install cutting‑edge smart home equipment in customers’ residences and help them understand how the technology protects and connects their homes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service, and troubleshoot security cameras, smart locks, and home automation systems.
• Assess each home on‑site and recommend upgrades or additional services that enhance safety and convenience.
• Educate homeowners on the operation and benefits of their new smart home system.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and sales activities.
• Participate in ongoing training and coaching to improve technical and sales performance.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑first attitude with the ability to build rapport and act with integrity.
• Comfortable working independently in a field environment and managing a daily schedule.
• Sales mindset – experience in retail, B2C sales, insurance or service‑based sales is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and grow within a national organization.

Required skills

• Installation of security cameras.
• Installation of smart locks.
• Installation and configuration of home automation systems.
• Troubleshooting of smart home devices.
• Experience with cable or satellite installation (preferred).
