Field Service Technician – Juneau, AK

About the role

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Field Service Technician to support underground drilling, load & haul trucks and other mining equipment at high‑profile sites. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining and commissioning new equipment while providing on‑site training to customers. Primary coverage is Juneau, Alaska, with fly‑in/fly‑out assignments of up to two weeks.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical components of underground drilling and haulage equipment.
• Commission new machinery and deliver customer training with minimal supervision.
• Perform standard maintenance, fault finding, inspections and service projects.
• Plan and prepare required tools and parts according to work procedures.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis to resolve recurring issues.
• Execute preventive and cost‑efficient repairs.
• Complete detailed maintenance reports and obtain customer authorization for invoicing.
• Collect technical feedback for sales and product improvement.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical or electrical background.
• Excellent diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel on a fly‑in/fly‑out basis.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.
