Field Service Technician

About the role

Giga is looking for a Field Service Technician to support the commissioning, startup, testing, and maintenance of power transformers, bitcoin mining containers, and AI data‑center electrical equipment. You will travel to customer sites, industrial facilities, and remote locations to ensure equipment operates safely and meets specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with commissioning, startup, testing, and energization of transformers, mining containers, and data‑center equipment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems in the field.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and functional testing.
• Support installation activities and verify compliance with safety standards and electrical codes.
• Document service reports, commissioning records, and inspection logs accurately and on time.
• Provide professional onsite technical support and communicate effectively with customers.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all company safety policies.
• Maintain service tools, testing equipment, and company vehicles in good condition.

Required profile

• Experience working with high‑voltage electrical equipment and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work independently on site and collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time, including remote locations.
• Strong attention to safety and compliance with electrical standards.

Required skills

• Commissioning and startup of power transformers and data‑center equipment.
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Repair and preventative maintenance of high‑voltage equipment.
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
• Use of service tools and testing equipment.
