Field Service Professional/Electrician (Smart Home)

About the role

Vivint Smart Home, an NRG‑owned company, is looking for a Field Service Professional/Electrician to join its smart‑home team in Hobbs, NM. You will install, service and troubleshoot cutting‑edge home automation equipment while offering customers upgrades that enhance safety and convenience.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and test security cameras, smart locks and home automation systems at customer residences.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with installed equipment on‑site.
• Assess homes during appointments and recommend additional smart‑home products or service upgrades.
• Educate homeowners on system operation and best practices for security and energy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service records and follow safety protocols, including use of the ES‑3J electrician license.

Required profile

• Valid ES‑3J electrician license for New Mexico.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Willingness to learn sales techniques and pursue upsell opportunities.
• Reliability, punctuality and a professional appearance.

Required skills

• Installation of security cameras.
• Installation of smart locks.
• Home automation system installation and configuration.
• Troubleshooting smart‑home equipment.
• Experience with cable/satellite installation (preferred).
