Field Service Engineer II – Customer Equipment

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer II (C2) to act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading semiconductor and display equipment. The role involves using digital analytics for troubleshooting and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of systems.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of customer/field service support experience (or 2–4 years preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.
