Field Service Engineer 3 - Position, Navigation and Timing

About the role

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated Field Service Engineer for its Position, Navigation and Timing program at Fort Moore. The engineer responds to unit requirements for hardware and weapons/stores maintenance, troubleshoots faults and supports Army maintainers and operators.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to unit requirements for hardware and weapons/stores maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Screen inoperable components to verify or eliminate faults.
• Apply electrical and mechanical principles to isolate faults, identify causes and restore equipment operation.
• Provide technical support to Army maintainers and operators to increase their competency.
• Analyze, design, develop, implement, test and evaluate major systems, components and support systems.
• Prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation.
• Support systems integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, acquisition and resource management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in aeronautical, electronics, computer science, general engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of project-related experience, including 1 year developing, testing and evaluating major systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the United States and occasionally overseas.
• Valid U.S. passport through 2028 or longer (or obtained within 90 days of start).
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred qualifications

• Military experience in operations.
• Understanding of Position, Navigation and Timing (GPS) systems.
• Ability to interact with active duty military personnel of all ranks.
• Understanding of communications systems.
