Federal Deployment Engineer

About the role

BigID is seeking a Federal Deployment Engineer to lead the implementation of its data security platform for U.S. government customers. You will own end‑to‑end deployments, work directly with agency stakeholders, and customize the solution to meet strict federal requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Automate deployment and configuration in restricted, air‑gapped networks using Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and IaC.
• Develop custom integrations and connectors via BigID’s REST APIs to support agency‑specific data sources and workflows.
• Debug production issues, produce reproducible bug reports and apply Agile/DevOps practices across multiple workstreams.
• Use Jenkins, Groovy and Bash for build and deployment automation and collaborate through Jira, Confluence, Git and AWS services.

Required profile

• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance (Top Secret preferred) and U.S. citizenship.
• At least 5 years of combined pre‑sales engineering and hands‑on software development experience.
• Experience working with Federal agencies or defense‑related organizations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Required skills

• Strong development skills in Python and at least one of Java, Node.js/TypeScript, or Go.
• Proficiency with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Jenkins, Groovy, Bash and REST API design.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, NIST 800‑53, FISMA, ITAR and CMMC compliance frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases, NoSQL stores (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB) and big‑data technologies (HDFS, Hive, HBase).
• Hands‑on experience with AWS GovCloud, S3, EMR, Redshift and Azure Government services.
