Fall 2026 Intensive Case Management Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Fall 2026 Intensive Case Management (ICM) Intern to support its Atlanta office. This unpaid, full‑time internship runs during the fall semester and provides hands‑on experience assisting refugees and asylees with complex needs through the ICM program.

Key responsibilities

• Map community assets and refer clients to appropriate partners.
• Schedule and coordinate medical appointments for clients.
• Educate clients about U.S. healthcare and social service systems.
• Assist clients in applying for social service assistance programs.
• Enter and maintain client information in the IRC database.
• Communicate client concerns to ICM staff and help coordinate service plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned by caseworkers.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage pressure.
• Interest in international, refugee, and humanitarian issues.
• Creative initiative and enthusiasm for helping people.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using databases or data entry tools.
