Fall 2026 Immigration Intern (Unpaid)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a motivated Fall 2026 Immigration Intern to support its accredited representatives on immigration matters. This unpaid position offers hands‑on experience in a humanitarian setting, assisting clients with immigration processes and learning about U.S. immigration law.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general, non‑individualized information on immigration law, eligibility, and procedures.
• Complete application forms using client‑provided information during workshops or after eligibility determinations.
• Notify clients about appointment notices, requests for evidence, and oath ceremonies.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding case status and timelines.
• Enter and update client data in the ETO/Lolly Law case‑management system.
• Conduct client intake, complete service agreements, and maintain case files.
• Research immigration‑related topics and monitor DHS policy updates.
• Assist in developing training materials and outreach programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the accredited representative.

Required profile

• Experience or academic background in immigration‑related work preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the ETO/Lolly Law case‑management platform.
