Facility Maintenance Technician (Shift 2)

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Facility Maintenance Technician IV to join its second-shift facility operations and maintenance team in Pontiac, Illinois. The typical schedule is an alternating 3-2-2 pattern of 12-hour shifts from 6pm to 6am, with schedule and overtime depending on business demand and possible weekend work to support 24/7 operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review service requests, determine the nature of the problem and recommend solutions, acting as a resource for complex issues
• Coordinate work with outside contractors and ensure code and building standards are met
• Perform repairs, modifications and preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, fixtures and systems
• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain facility systems, working from dispatched service or daily/weekly schedules
• Document work as needed and assist in moving furniture, materials and equipment
• Work safely, oversee subcontractor activities and perform other assigned duties

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 5 years of experience in the area of specialization
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs repeatedly, kneel, bend and stretch repetitively, and walk extensively
• Ability to read wire colour codes and wear PPE such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves and hard hats
• Valid driver's license, security badge access and willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends
• No sponsorship for U.S. work authorization; pre-employment substance abuse test required
