Facility Maintenance Technician IV

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Multiskilled Technician IV for its Winston-Salem, NC site, working Monday to Friday 7 AM to 3:30 PM (1st shift); hours may vary with business demand and weekend hours may be scheduled to support a 24/7 operation. The technician provides an intermediate level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting and preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing plant environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review service requests, determine the nature of the problem and recommend solutions
• Perform repairs, modifications and preventive maintenance on water, air, HVAC, chiller, air handler and building automation systems
• Troubleshoot and coordinate work with outside contractors while ensuring code and building standards are met
• Identify and correct safety issues, evaluate equipment for potential failures and follow safety procedures such as lockout/tag-out and PPE
• Document work, coordinate with colleagues and subcontractors, and assist in moving furniture and materials
• May train other technicians, prepare reports and give technical guidance to less experienced staff

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five years of general maintenance repair experience in an industrial environment, or equivalent education and experience
• Valid driver's license, security access badge and ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends and on-call duty
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in lifts up to 30 feet, climb ladders and stairs repeatedly, and differentiate wire colours
• Preferred: associate's degree in industrial technology or industrial electrical certificate

Required skills

• Preferred: troubleshooting and replacing 3-phase motors up to 60 hp, circuits and wiring up to 480 V 3-phase
• Preferred: CMMS or maintenance management system (e.g., Maximo, M5K)
• Preferred: BAS, chiller, compressor, overhead crane and hydraulic systems knowledge, NFPA-70E training, HVAC/R EPA certification
