Facility Maintenance and Automation Technician

About the role

Venus Aerospace seeks a Facility Maintenance and Automation Technician to support its cutting‑edge propulsion manufacturing facility in Houston. The role focuses on preventive maintenance and rapid repair of automated CNC machinery and core facility systems to maximize production uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on CNC machines, including mechanical, electrical, and control checks.
• Diagnose equipment faults, replace worn components (belts, bearings, sensors, etc.), and verify machine alignment and calibration after service.
• Maintain building systems such as HVAC, compressors, pumps, and compressed‑air networks, coordinating vendor support when needed.
• Use the CMMS to create, update, and close work orders, record parts, labor, downtime causes, and ensure audit‑ready documentation.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety standards during all maintenance activities.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of hands‑on facility maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience with CNC machine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic/hydraulic, electrical, and sensor issues.
• Competent use of a CMMS for work‑order management and maintenance tracking.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics and follow technical manuals.
