Facilities Engineer – Healthcare Real Estate

About the role

We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to manage and maintain the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life‑safety systems across our healthcare real‑estate portfolio. The role involves hands‑on service, vendor coordination and ensuring tenant satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, maintain, service and repair mechanical (HVAC), electrical, lighting, plumbing, life safety and ancillary systems.
• Coordinate and oversee outsourced/contracted vendor work, including scope review, scheduling and supervision.
• Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for tenants, handling service requests promptly.
• Monitor the building automation system, adjust settings and investigate HVAC requests.
• Schedule external vendors/contractors for issues beyond internal staff scope, with owner approval.
• Coordinate and monitor on‑site construction activities, tour sites, attend meetings and assist contractors on engineering matters.
• Maintain inventory of parts, materials and supplies, ensuring cost‑effective purchasing.
• Ensure compliance with regulations such as ADA, CFC, OSHA and related training.
• Keep mechanical and storage areas clean and orderly; monitor building conditions including vacant spaces.
• Assist the Property Manager with budgeting, bid procurement and interface with the leasing team and prospective tenants.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities/engineering maintenance or equivalent education.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workflow and work independently.
• Physical ability to perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft‑based software (e.g., Excel).
