General Manager – High‑Rise Apartment Community

About the role

The General Manager will oversee day‑to‑day operations of a high‑rise, lease‑up community of 424 units in Sarasota, Florida. This full‑time position requires managing staff, budgets, resident satisfaction, and compliance with all relevant housing laws.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage property budgets, analyze financial statements, and ensure revenue targets are met.
• Approve vendor invoices, control expenditures, and handle petty‑cash fund.
• Oversee lease enforcement, resident applications, renewals, inspections, evictions, and fee collections.
• Analyze market trends and implement leasing strategies to achieve occupancy and revenue goals.
• Maintain resident satisfaction by responding to complaints and service requests promptly.
• Conduct regular property inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and appearance standards.
• Supervise, hire, train, and evaluate property staff in line with company policies.
• Manage owner relationships, provide performance updates, and address owner requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Management, Real Estate or related field.
• 4‑6 years of property management, sales, marketing and customer service experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication, conflict‑resolution and customer‑service skills.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and capable of independent and collaborative work.

Required skills

• Proficiency with property‑management software (Entrata, Yardi, OneSite preferred).
• Advanced skills in internet use, word processing, spreadsheets and database management.
• Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on‑site.
• All required state and local licenses/certifications for property management.
