Experienced Springmaker / Machine Operator

About the role

Midstate Spring is seeking an experienced Springmaker/Machine Operator to join its climate‑controlled facility in Syracuse, NY. The role involves fabricating and assembling precision springs for power tools, firearms, medical devices and more.

Key responsibilities

• Produce compression, extension and torsion springs using CNC‑controlled specialty machines.
• Read customer specifications, program machines, and perform quality inspections to ensure compliance.
• Operate and maintain equipment related to steel fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, dyeing, painting and grinding.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow detailed work instructions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with strong math and gauging skills.
• Minimum 2 years of spring coiling or forming experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 lb and stand for the majority of the shift.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and email.
• Experience programming CNC specialty machines.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
