Experienced Economist Consultant (Multiple Locations)

About the role

NERA Economic Consulting, part of Marsh (NYSE: MRSH), is seeking experienced consultants with PhDs in economics or a related field, trained in econometrics and quantitative methods. Consultants work across many industries, producing economic research, models, reports and expert testimony for law firms, corporations and regulators. The position is open to multiple locations.

Key responsibilities

• Apply the technical skills and knowledge gained during graduate studies
• Conduct high-powered economic research across a wide variety of industries
• Develop economic and financial models to answer critical business questions
• Perform economic analysis on complex real-life issues
• Write research reports and client presentations for senior staff and clients
• Influence and direct project strategy, including preparing and presenting oral and written testimony
• Collaborate with in-house experts and outside academics
• Manage client relationships and develop project and people management skills

Required profile

• PhD in economics or a related field, completed
• Training in econometrics and quantitative methods
• 2-4 years of academic or relevant industry experience
• Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and project management skills
• Ability to think creatively to solve complex problems

What we offer

• Base salary of $235,000 to $270,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, training, location, certifications and education; possible performance-based incentives
