Executive Director, Physician & Faculty Compensation

About the role
The University of Miami seeks an experienced leader to direct physician and faculty compensation strategy across its academic medical enterprise. This executive will ensure compensation programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the institution’s mission in patient care, research, and education.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously evaluate compensation models, including base salary, productivity incentives (e.g., wRVUs), quality metrics, and academic incentives.
- Partner with the Compensation Committee, executive leadership, and clinical, academic, and administrative partners to align compensation with institutional strategy and market practices.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations, including Stark Law, Anti‑Kickback Statute, and IRS guidelines.
- Oversee faculty compensation governance, contract administration, and internal audit controls.
- Conduct market benchmarking using national surveys (MGMA, AAMC, SullivanCotter) and provide advanced analytics to inform pay decisions.
- Prepare and present compensation analyses and recommendations to senior leadership and governing bodies.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in compensation strategy within an academic medical center or similar complex organization.
- Deep knowledge of fair market value assessments, commercial reasonableness, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong ability to build relationships with clinical, academic, and administrative stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in translating productivity and quality data into compensation models.
