Executive Director, Clinical Operations

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking an Executive Director, Clinical Operations to lead and manage its clinical facilities. This senior leader will be responsible for fiscal planning, patient accounting, staffing, space planning, inventory control, and overall administration while driving physician and patient satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Address patient, physician, and staff complaints in accordance with University policies.
• Monitor unit activities to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
• Develop system‑wide policies and procedures to deliver standardized high‑quality care.
• Optimize staffing models, patient throughput, and exam‑room utilization.
• Implement innovative programs and best practices across locations.
• Oversee compliance with regulatory agencies and professional standards.
• Mentor, train, motivate, and evaluate department staff.
• Plan for future growth by assessing program needs and allocating fiscal and human resources.
• Participate in organization‑wide performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure internal control oversight, risk assessment, and compliance with laws, regulations, and University policies.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in managing clinical facilities or health‑care operations.
• Strong ability to develop and enforce policies that ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Experience optimizing staffing models and resource utilization.
• Track record of implementing innovative care programs.
