ETO Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Engineer-to-Order (ETO) Design Engineer to join our Custom Design Engineering Group. The role supports custom product design, prototyping and prepares designs for production in an ETO factory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and scrub Bills of Materials (BOM) for accuracy, completeness and manufacturability, ensuring alignment with production requirements.
• Create and update detailed AutoCAD drawings and engineering documentation, supporting design modifications for custom projects.
• Lead prototype builds, verify functionality, troubleshoot issues and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Participate in product testing and validation, providing technical assistance to Quality Assurance for inspections and compliance.
• Develop part specifications and work with UL representatives to ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or custom‑design environment.
• Strong understanding of BOM structures, ERP systems and the Engineer‑to‑Order process.
• Hands‑on experience with prototype assembly, testing and use of production floor tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and mechanical instruments.
• Knowledge of UL requirements for electrical equipment design.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (proficiency required).
• Familiarity with Creo or other CAD tools.
• BOM management and ERP system usage.
• Prototype assembly and testing.
• Use of multimeters, oscilloscopes and mechanical measurement instruments.
• Understanding of UL compliance and regulatory standards.
