Estimator / Project Manager – Heavy Civil & Mining (Western US)

About the role

MacKay Contracting seeks an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to lead the pursuit, winning and execution of heavy civil and mining projects across the Western United States. You will be on‑site, evaluating opportunities, shaping bids and guiding projects from concept through delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate heavy civil, mining and infrastructure opportunities throughout the Western U.S.
• Develop detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, pricing, schedules and bid strategies aligned with how the work will be built.
• Build and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Take awarded projects through planning, mobilization and execution, managing cost, schedule, contracts, changes and client communication.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in heavy civil or mining construction estimating and project management.
• Proven ability to assess market risks, determine project viability and influence bid strategy.
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients, field teams and internal stakeholders.
