Estimator II – Senior Estimator

About the role

North Wind Group is seeking a motivated Estimator II to support regional and company estimating managers in developing accurate project estimates across multiple locations, including Knoxville, Idaho Falls, and Las Vegas. The role involves full‑time onsite work with up to 25% travel for site visits and meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed takeoffs and develop complete project estimates, including resource libraries and Basis of Estimates (BOE).
• Coordinate subcontractor solicitations, quote comparisons, and maintain the document control process for all bid materials.
• Collaborate with Capture Managers, Subject Matter Experts, and project teams to create staffing plans, indirect estimates, and risk mitigation matrices.
• Lead bid reviews, manage bidding schedules, and ensure alignment of bid strategy with company capabilities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of estimating experience, preferably with design‑build projects and federal government contracts.
• Proven ability to work with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to capture undefined costs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting information to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance for government installations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office Suite.
• Experience in developing BOE, Level of Effort (LOE) estimates, and comprehensive quote comparisons.
