Estimator - Commercial / Retail Construction

About the role

An established commercial general contractor based in Atlanta, specializing in restaurant, fast-food, retail and banking construction projects of $3 million to $6 million, is looking for an experienced Estimator. The Estimator prepares accurate, competitive and profitable estimates and works closely with project teams, subcontractors, vendors and clients to develop detailed bids and help secure new business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids for fast-food restaurant, retail and commercial construction projects
• Review plans, specifications, scopes of work and project requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop project budgets
• Solicit, analyze and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Prepare bid proposals and supporting documentation
• Manage multiple estimates at once while meeting bid deadlines

Required profile

• 3-10 years of construction estimating experience strongly preferred
• Previous estimating experience in restaurant, fast-food, retail, commercial or similar construction
• Experience estimating projects in the $3M-$6M range
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field preferred but not required
• Must be based in or willing to work in Atlanta, GA

Required skills

• Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, materials, scopes of work and subcontractor pricing
• Detailed quantity takeoffs and accurate cost estimation
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
