Equipment Operator - Agronomy

About the role

The Agronomy Department at Troubadour Golf & Field Club is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator. You will work under the supervision of the Director of Agronomy, Superintendent, or Equipment Manager, operating a variety of large and small equipment to maintain the golf course and surrounding landscapes.

Key responsibilities

• Operate tractors, loaders, backhoes, mowers, fly‑mos, sand‑trap rakes, aerifiers, sprayers, turf vacs, and other maintenance equipment.
• Mow greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and desert landscapes using power mowers, trimmers, backpack blowers, and hand tools.
• Rake, manicure, and maintain sand traps, transition areas, and desert terrain.
• Perform hand mowing, trimming, shoveling, raking, and other manual labor tasks.
• Load and unload materials, excavate and back‑fill ditches, lay sod, and assist with green, tee, and fairway construction.
• Participate in annual over‑seeding, clean drains and culverts, sweep cart paths, and collect litter.
• Operate small utility vehicles for hauling equipment and debris, and perform basic janitorial duties.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Prior experience on a golf‑course maintenance team or similar construction environment.
• Knowledge of large and small engine operation and repair.
• Knowledge of hydraulic‑powered machine operation and repair.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
