Epidemiologist – Occupational Health Research

About the role
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an Epidemiologist to lead complex epidemiological studies and health surveillance activities focused on occupational health. This position is based in Spokane, WA and requires on‑site presence.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute epidemiological studies to identify occupational health risks and evaluate disease trends.
- Provide technical leadership and expert consultation on data science, including management, analysis, and interpretation of structured and unstructured datasets.
- Develop innovative analytic approaches, statistical methodologies, and data visualization products to support research and decision‑making.
- Formulate recommendations to prevent, mitigate, and control workplace health risks and exposures.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a medical, health science, or allied science field from an accredited program.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑13 level, including leading epidemiological studies and providing data‑science expertise.
