Epic Principal Trainer, Ambulatory/Kaleidoscope

About the role

The University of Miami Information Technology & Systems Department is seeking a full‑time Epic Principal Trainer focused on Ambulatory and Kaleidoscope applications. The role supports clinical systems used for patient care and ensures staff receive high‑quality training and support.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in pre‑production simulations, workflow integration, testing and validation of system functionality.
• Deliver end‑user training on Epic Ambulatory and Kaleidoscope applications.
• Develop training project plans aligned with IT project timelines.
• Create lesson plans, curricula, manuals, classroom exercises, competency assessments and online e‑learning modules.
• Assist with application testing, go‑live activities and post‑implementation support.
• Collaborate with analysts to design training strategies for new features and changes.
• Monitor project status, issues and stakeholder feedback to ensure training meets clinical needs.
• Analyze, build, test and troubleshoot technical issues in the training environment (MST) and participate in on‑call rotation as required.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of Epic Ambulatory and Kaleidoscope clinical systems.
• Experience designing and delivering curriculum for healthcare IT applications.
• Ability to work closely with analysts, clinicians and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with university health policies, procedures and business operations.
• Proven ability to manage training schedules, quality and documentation.
