Environmental Services Technician

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a full‑time Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the facility. This position supports patient care by ensuring all areas meet the highest standards of sanitation.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established cleaning methods and procedures.
• Use only approved cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Adhere to fire safety, waste disposal, dress code, and patient information guidelines.
• Report areas needing special cleaning or repairs to the supervisor.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and supply organization.
• Comply with university and unit policies to protect assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience as a housekeeper in a hotel, motel, commercial, industrial sanitation, or health‑care setting.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Commitment to the University’s core values.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
