Environmental Services Technician – Full‑Time

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking a full‑time Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This position supports patient care by ensuring all areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Follow established cleaning methods and procedures.
• Use only approved cleaning supplies and chemicals.
• Adhere to fire safety, waste disposal, dress code, and patient information guidelines.
• Report areas needing special cleaning or repairs to the supervisor.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and supply organization.
• Comply with university and unit policies to protect assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience as a housekeeper in a hotel, motel, commercial/industrial sanitation, or health‑care setting.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Commitment to the university’s core values.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
