About the role
The Environmental Compliance Specialist 2 provides technical support to North Georgia facilities of the Georgia Army National Guard (GaARNG). The role ensures compliance with DOD, state, federal and local environmental regulations while managing hazardous waste programs.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct site visits and assessments to identify environmental issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate environmental records and files for assigned facilities.
- Manage the hazardous waste program, processing waste turn‑ins and ensuring proper disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Develop and maintain assessment schedules for regional facilities.
- Travel occasionally to other state regions and attend training or conferences as required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 40 quarter hours (27 semester hours) of laboratory sciences.
- Minimum one year of environmental compliance experience or equivalent position.
- Preference for a degree in environmental science or a related field and professional certification in environmental science.
