Entry-Level Electrical Component Test Engineer

About the role

Amentum, a partner to U.S. government agencies, allied governments and corporations, is looking for an Entry-Level Electrical Component Test Engineer. The role involves designing, developing and reviewing test circuits, printed circuit boards and automated test programs for microelectronic components, with close supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design, development and review tasks with close supervision
• Design, develop and simulate test circuits for characterizing and evaluating microelectronic components
• Design and develop printed circuit boards and automated test programs
• Collect data on test components and review data produced by others
• Complete parts of analysis and design reviews, and assist in preparing reports and correspondence
• Track and maintain project development status
• Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
• Interface with customers in design reviews and technical working group meetings
• Verify compliance with engineering documentation standards and test procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and relevant experience or understanding of microelectronics and/or electronic components
• Experience with lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters and analyzers
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance; interim clearance required to start; U.S. citizenship required
• Preferred: microelectronic component test experience, SCALE program affiliation, basic analog or design knowledge of PCBs or ASICs, and understanding of microelectronic fabrication processes

Required skills

• Preferred: EDA tools such as Altium, Eagle, LTspice
• Preferred: some programming in Python, C, C++, Visual Basic, git or LabVIEW
• Preferred: understanding of noise and repeatable test measurements
