Engineering Technician - 2nd Shift

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Engineering Technician for its 2nd shift (Monday to Thursday, 12:00 pm to 10:30 pm) at its Merriam, Kansas facility. The technician responds to equipment failures and provides maintenance support across plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and facility improvement functions.

Key responsibilities

• Replace and repair patient room equipment such as light bulbs, televisions, thermostats, telephones, curtain tracks, doors, door closers, corner guards, wall bases, floor coverings and ceiling tiles.
• Unplug drains and repair faucets and flush valves; respond to electrical, HVAC and plumbing failures.
• Repair medical gas outlets, carts, gurneys, IV stands and patient-use appliances.
• Assist in installing signage and other wall-hung items.
• Maintain and replace medical gases as needed in designated areas and respond to equipment failures in the boiler room.
• Provide maintenance support in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and facility improvement functions.
• Communicate with the manager and team on the progress of work, maintain awareness of healthcare, federal, state and local regulations, and take part in quality improvement initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent, or 5+ years of experience (required).
• Associate degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license (required).

Pay range: $19.11 - $35.54.
