Engineering Supervisor – Hilton Garden Inn – Mt. Laurel NJ

About the role

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and landscaping activities at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mt. Laurel, NJ. This role ensures compliance with corporate standards, local codes, and safety regulations while delivering high guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage emergency and preventative maintenance programs for all hotel equipment, guest rooms, public areas and exterior spaces.
• Maintain a documented preventive‑maintenance schedule covering HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other systems.
• Monitor and control departmental expenses, labor costs and overtime to stay within forecasted budgets.
• Ensure all safety certifications (OSHA, CPR) are current and that staff are trained on emergency procedures and equipment shut‑offs.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to resolve guest complaints, improve appearance scores and uphold the TripleAAA 4‑Diamond rating.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• High school diploma required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
• Vocational or military training and certification in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, or Carpentry.
• Proven ability to lead, train and develop a diverse team of technicians.

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Carpentry systems.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and CPR certification.
• Computer literacy for maintenance management software and reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
