Engineering Manager, Perception and Machine Learning

About the role

As Engineering Manager for Perception and Machine Learning at HavocAI, you will lead a multidisciplinary team that builds the perception stack enabling autonomous systems to sense, understand and act in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers specializing in perception, machine learning, sensor fusion and software development.
• Define and execute the roadmap for perception and ML capabilities, aligning priorities with product, autonomy and field‑operation needs.
• Collaborate with senior technical contributors to shape architecture for computer‑vision, tracking, detection, classification and segmentation pipelines.
• Oversee model training, evaluation, data curation, validation and deployment workflows to ensure reliability and field readiness.
• Translate mission and product requirements into clear engineering plans and deliverables.
• Implement engineering best practices including design reviews, code reviews, testing, release readiness and documentation.
• Identify and mitigate execution risks, resource constraints and technical dependencies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams in perception, computer vision or robotics domains.
• Strong background in machine learning, sensor fusion and autonomous systems.
• Ability to balance technical decisions with team development and fast‑changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills to work cross‑functionally with autonomy, embedded, data, simulation and product teams.
