Engineering Manager

About the role

Social Discovery Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a cross‑functional team of 7–10 engineers (backend, frontend, QA, AQA) and own end‑to‑end feature delivery from requirements to release. The role is fully remote and focuses on building reliable, scalable social discovery products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead sprint planning, estimation, decomposition and ensure Definition of Ready/Done.
• Partner with the Product Manager on backlog prioritisation and take part in feature design and technical decisions.
• Maintain service reliability through monitoring, alerting, incident reviews and post‑mortems.
• Guide the team in adopting agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) and microservice architecture.

Required profile

• 3+ years of commercial development experience with .NET, Java or Python.
• At least 1 year of experience leading a cross‑functional engineering team.
• Understanding of microservice patterns, REST/gRPC, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
