Engineering Intern – Manufacturing Projects

About the role
Lilly is seeking engineering interns for a 12‑week summer program starting May/June 2027. Interns will work on real‑world manufacturing projects, collaborate with engineers and senior management, and present their results at the end of the program.
Key responsibilities
- Operate and maintain manufacturing, utility, and automation systems in compliance with regulations.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support capital projects including design, construction, and start‑up.
- Assist in designing drug delivery systems, manufacturing processes, waste‑reduction and energy‑minimization solutions.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a BS or MS Engineering program, having completed sophomore or junior year, with degree expected by August 2029.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis (no visa sponsorship).
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- Experience with AI tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, automation tools, AI‑assisted research/analytics).
