About the role
The Engineering Intern will support Barnhart’s engineering team in creating innovative heavy‑lift and heavy‑transport solutions. This paid, hands‑on internship offers exposure to both office‑based design work and local field support.
Key responsibilities
- Create AutoCAD/Inventor models and equipment layout drawings.
- Perform basic steel design calculations and develop engineering process tools such as reference charts and Excel templates.
- Provide regular communication with managers and team members and assist with local field support as needed.
Required profile
- High school diploma and pursuing a B.S. in an ABET‑accredited engineering discipline.
- Preference for current sophomores or juniors for the Summer 2027 term.
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.

- Inventor (solid modeling)
- Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
