Engineering Coordinator – Project & Equipment Management

About the role

The Engineering Coordinator will work closely with engineers and project managers to drive site‑specific engineering projects, capital equipment purchases, and supplier activities. This position offers the chance to collaborate with innovative 3M teams worldwide while gaining hands‑on experience in project and sourcing management.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and coordinate engineering projects and programs under guidance of engineers or supervisors.
• Act as a sourcing partner to execute capital equipment purchases, following sourcing policies.
• Provide financial analysis and technical expertise for assigned projects.
• Independently manage lower‑risk technical projects, Engineering Work Requests (EWRs) and Specialty Work Requests (SWRs).
• Define internal customer requirements, generate estimates, obtain bids, negotiate price and delivery, and prepare Authorization for Expenditure (AFE).
• Track project budgets, spending, and commitments.
• Coordinate and monitor supplier and contractor activities, ensuring timely delivery and payment.

Required profile

• Experience working on engineering projects or in a technical support role.
• Ability to analyze equipment needs, prepare cost justifications, and manage budgets.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal customers, suppliers, and cross‑functional teams.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
