Engineering Co-op - Spring 2026

About the role

ABB is hiring an engineering co-op intern for Spring 2026 in Selmer, Tennessee, reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager. The work model is onsite or hybrid, and the intern gains practical experience through projects while supporting ABB's operations. The position is expected to pay between $20 and $34 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality and safety
• Support data collection and analysis for time studies, workflow optimization and root cause investigations
• Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects
• Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process changes
• Design tools, fixtures or layouts using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Document findings and present recommendations to the engineering team

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
• Reliable transportation to and from the worksite
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
• Ability to analyze complex situations, prioritize tasks and manage several tasks at once
