Engineer-In-Training – Water Resources

About the role

Horrocks is seeking an Engineer-In-Training to join its Water Resources team. This entry‑level position offers the chance to work on large, multi‑discipline municipal projects and develop a broad engineering skill set.

Key responsibilities

• Design waterline, pumping, storage, source development, sewer collection, and hydrology & hydraulic (H&H) systems for municipal or local agency clients.
• Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water, sewer, and H&H projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to deliver projects on schedule.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks from concept through completion.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and cross‑office teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 0–4+ years of civil design experience; entry‑level candidates considered.
• Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
• Willingness to work on local projects or collaborate with other offices.
• Proven ability to meet project deadlines and budgets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• AutoCAD Civil 3D.
