Engagement Manager - Private Capital and Value Creation

About the role

The Private Capital and Value Creation team at Oliver Wyman supports private equity investors through the entire deal lifecycle, from opportunity identification and due diligence to post-transaction value realization. As Engagement Manager, you will lead project teams in operational due diligence (ODD) and post-deal value creation. The role is based in New York, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C. or Toronto.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee project workstreams and deliver them on time and accurately
• Develop and manage hypotheses for operational improvement and value creation
• Facilitate data collection, modeling and analysis to inform client decisions
• Act as primary client contact, synthesize findings into recommendations and presentations, and lead discussions on value enhancement
• Mentor team members and manage project teams to high quality
• Run operational due diligence on cost optimization, top-line growth (go-to-market, pricing, sales drivers) and organizational structure, and assess EBITDA impact of value initiatives

Required profile

• 5 to 8+ years in management consulting, focused on private equity or operational improvements
• Experience leading operational due diligence and implementing post-deal strategies
• Undergraduate degree; MBA or similar preferred
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization required for U.S. offices
