Engagement Manager, Consumer, Telco & Technology

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Consumer, Telco & Technology practice is looking for Engagement Managers in New York, Chicago and Boston. Engagement Managers lead client projects and parts of the client relationship alongside Partners, acting as trusted advisors and trusted leaders of the consulting team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and the commercial process, sharing responsibility for the success of a specific engagement
• Lead and manage complex programs to meet agreed goals on time, using Oliver Wyman best practice and the firm's technical competence
• Guide and influence clients and build business by identifying new and expanded opportunities
• Build intellectual capital through thought leadership and knowledge of adjacent topics
• Develop others and build a followership, and lead firm-building activities as a role model for firm values
• Oversee the consulting team as it develops hypotheses, reviews client information, conducts interviews, derives insights and produces deliverables
• Support Partners in project execution through project management, work planning, workflow management and coaching of junior team members

Required profile

• Preference for 5-8 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or similar organization
• Experience in Retail, Consumer Goods, Telecommunications, Software/Technology or Media preferred but not required
• Track record of leading teams and delivering results in fast-paced environments
• Strong strategic problem-solving and analytical skills, with quantitative, technical toolkit including SQL and Python
• Undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program; client management experience
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time, including internationally

What we offer

• Base salary range of $225,000 - $240,000, depending on experience, skills, location and education
