Energy Transition Navigator

About the role

The Energy Transition Navigator plays a key role in expanding Illinois' clean‑energy workforce. Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development, this position drives community education, outreach, and recruitment for clean‑energy training and contractor programs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, leaders, and stakeholders across Illinois.
• Organise and attend meetings, workshops, and events to promote clean‑energy programs.
• Develop and distribute educational materials that raise awareness of clean‑energy career pathways.
• Identify eligible participants and execute outreach strategies, including canvassing, phone banking, and social‑media campaigns.
• Conduct informational sessions and one‑on‑one consultations to assess eligibility and readiness.
• Collaborate with program managers to design outreach and training curricula.
• Provide ongoing mentorship to participants throughout their training journey.
• Track outreach activities, maintain accurate records, and prepare monthly reports on participation, outcomes, and community feedback.
• Analyse data to spot trends and improve recruitment tactics.
• Forge partnerships with educational institutions, workforce agencies, utilities, and local governments.
• Support grant applications by obtaining MOUs and letters of support.

Required profile

• Experience in community outreach, workforce development, or related fields.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to assess participant needs and guide them through training pathways.
